Big Joe Krash - Break The Chain (A Psychosonic Comic)

Wow! Today I share with you KRS-ONE's Break The Chain EP, the read along cassette that came with the comic as well as the music video. Far as I know there was only 100-200 EP's pressed up & given out at shows By Kris with the comic. I got a hold of my copy from my boy D who got a few from KRS when he was up here in Toronto in 95. Break The Chain!

Alphabet Soup - Sunny Day In Harlem

Alphabet Soup - Sunny Day In Harlem EP (1991)

Shout out to Neogeo for putting me up on this group. As far as I know Sunny Day In Harlem is their only release. When I first heard this EP I instantly thought of Paul C. Turns out he was one of their influences along with Prince Paul. A very dope lesser known EP that goes for some loot... Uncle Sam is the joint! Enjoy!

DJ Clue - Spring Hip Hop Pt. 2

My first and favorite Clue tape! 96 was such an ill time with so many anticipated releases dropping. Nas was following up a classic, Jay-Z, Busta, Real Live, Blahzay Blahzay & Smooth The Hustler had their debuts, ATCQ was doin it 1nce Again & The Fuguees were Killing Em Softly. Back when soundtracks like The Great White Hype & The Nutty Professor had you fiending for those exclusive new tracks. Clue came through with the joints my fav's being the Hill Playaz Remix of Hustler's Theme & this track from The Darkside that I need someone to shool me on. It's on the B-Side near the end Between Jay-Z & Blahzay Blahzay. It has also has a Nas freestyle that I think was from a Trackmasters white label which starts off the B-Side and into some dope R&B cuts. Although he ain't mixing for shit he has that selection...

Main Source - Live On Electric Circus 1991

Here's some Electric Circus footage from 1991 with a hella fine Monica Deol almost forgetting who she is introducing. MmmmmMain Source preforms Looking At The Front Door with Farley Flex & Kish in the house chillin. Small slip up from the Extra P @ 1:16. Much Music Rap City - 1st Episode (Hip Hop History With Red Alert)

I've been sitting on some old Rap City footage I've been meaning to share for a while now, and I finally got a video editing program to edit all the tapes of footage. This first clip I 'm sharing is from the debut episode of Rap City on Much Music here in Toronto from sometime in Sept of 1989. Here you have the first of 4 intros Rap City produced for the show during its run, (I'll post the other intros as I edit) as well as a Hip Hop History segment with DJ Red Alert. More footage to follow!

Shout out to my fellow Torontonians The Meaning Of Dope, they have been dropping classic footage after footage for a while now so definitely check them out if you haven't already...

DJ Tony Touch - Tape #56 (Hot Shit)

Hot Shit was probably the first Tony Touch Mix Tape I heard and it's one I always go back to. I was in grade 9 when this shit dropped and it had all the ill shit out around 1998. Joints like You Know My Steez & So Wassup had me fiending for the new Gang Starr LP. Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz were going strong with the NY Anthem Deja Vu. Canibus had a nice buzz going from his guest appearances and was getting ready to drop his debut LP featuring the banger How We Roll. Big Pun had the hip hop quotable for Deep Cover and was getting ready to drop his debut as well. Also includes tracks from D.I.T.C., Organized Konfusion, Fat Joe, Killah Priest, Mobb Deep, Mos Def & The Cocoa Brovas. Enjoy!
