Stetsasonic - 1989 Interview

video

I'm a little late but since DJ ReMike dropped his Stetsasonic Mixtape I thought why not drop this Interview from 1989. You get a short glimpse into Prince Paul's Studio Setup, A brief intorduction to the group memebers and a short interview with Daddy-O in the studio...

The Heretics - Patterns Of Chaos

The Heretics - Patterns Of Chaos

The meeting of The Iconoclast and Mikey Bingo was merely by chance, but it was their mutual respect for hip-hop which lead to the formation of The Heretics. Now, after years of recording at The Wastelands and finding a distinctive, raw sound, The Heretics are ready to be unleashed. Musically they can be described as a form of hardcore, lyrical hip-hop that stays true to the boom bap sound of times past. With an impressive amassment of songs recorded, The Heretics are now primed and ready to launch an all out assault that will establish them in the Hip-Hop genre.

Here is what they have to say about their new release. "Finally, here it is. This is the download link for Patterns of Chaos. It is a 19 track album that we are releasing for free. All we ask is that if you enjoy it, spread the word. Forward the link on, post it on forums you may be a part of, put it on torrent sites or limewire, burn cd's and give them away, anything to help the movement. A lot of hard work went into this album and its hard to give it away for free but with all of your help, it will be a worthy investment."

DJ ReMike - Stetsasonic: The Original Hip Hop Band

DJ ReMike - Stetsasonic: The Original Hip Hop Band

Now it's time for the second release of S.O.U.L.'s Mixtape Project. This one is a tribute to Stetsasonic by DJ ReMike. This is what he had to say about the mixtape:

Stetsasonic was a hip hop group that dropped 3 albums in the mid to late 80s (around the same time as Run-DMC was active). They're considered to be the first hip hop live band. After the group folded, heir frontman, Daddy-O went on to drop a solo debut and become a very in-demand producer, and their DJ Prince Paul became a part of reknowned hip hop group De La Soul. My reason for dropping this mixtape was that I felt that Stetsasonic's was forgotten and to bring it to the light. The project is meant to bring back the real original mixtapes & real mix DJ's.

02. Showtime
03. Just Say Stet
